Hillel’s core mission is to inspire every Jewish college student to make an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning and Israel. And with this vision, comes great responsibility. We encourage our students to take on leadership roles through other campus organizations and at Hillel through student board positions and internships. By helping them develop these leadership skills now, we are insuring our own strong and vibrant, collective Jewish future.

Hey everyone! My name is Rachel Gershon and I am a junior at Marquette University majoring in educational studies and communication. I am from Long Island, New York where you usually can catch me attending a broadway show. If you don’t see me there you can find me crocheting, snowboarding, or watching Brooklyn Nine-Nine. I am so excited to be serving on the student board as President and can’t wait for all the amazing events in store! I hope to see you all at a Shabbat real soon :)

I'm a junior at University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee majoring in accounting and I'm from the Milwaukee area. This is my first time being on a student board and it's great to be more involved with Hillel.

Jane Blossom (she/her) - Israel chair

Jane is a Junior at Marquette University, studying International Affairs and Spanish
Language, Literature and Culture. She is from Sister Bay, Wisconsin where you can find her
every summer working at Al Johnson’s Restaurant, with the goats on the roof. Jane is a Door
County local and can give you an insider scoop on the best places to eat and visit in the county.
She is a Rotary Scholarship winner and traveled to Colombia for the 2019-2020 school year. A
fun fact about Jane is that she has a vast plant collection. Her passions include goats, empanadas,
Spanish, and braiding challah bread. This is Jane’s second year serving on the Student Board and
she currently holds the position of Co-president alongside Dilli Kittner.

Shalom! My name is Jack Redfern and I am so excited to be serving as your Jewish Life and Learning Chair. A little bit about me is that I am currently a second-year student at Marquette University double majoring in Secondary Education & Mathematics. Before coming to college I was an active member at home in my local USY (United Synagogue Youth) region serving as our Membership/Kadima Vice President for the past two years. I am so excited to spend this year getting to bring some amazing traditions to Hillel Milwaukee as well as expanding on old ones and sharing my love for Jewish Education to everyone else.
