Hillel Milwaukee has been accepting student leaders into our Side-by-Side Fellowship and Trip to Israel since 2018, and we are once again recruiting for our Spring 2025 fellowship and trip!
This trip is open to Marquette University Undergraduate Student Leaders.
The Side By Side Fellowship and Trip to Israel is more than just a trip. It is an opportunity for Marquette University's and University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee undergraduate student leaders to help create their own Israel experience through a deep dive into Israel and the Palestinian territories.
This Fellowship and trip brings Jewish and non-Jewish Marquette University and University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee undergraduate student leaders together and then to the region to educate them about Israel and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict: shining an international light on the complexities and nuance, in an immersive and experiential way. Participants will hear from Israel's most innovative industry leaders, meet with Palestinian activists, tour Israel and Palestinian cities, including religious holy sites, and so much more!
We believe that by presenting students with the opportunity to explore and develop their connections to Israel and Palestine, students will be empowered to bring back what they have learned to campus and continue to grow as vibrant, committed leaders in our community.
Our Side by Side trip dates are May 18, 2025-May 28, 2025.
Eligibility:
NO PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE NEEDED!
MANDATORY Requirements:
*Participation in 3 pre-trip orientations - dates TBD in Spring 2025
*Participation in 3 post-trip sessions (dates and times TBD by the group).
*Committed to participating in 2-3 group leadership initiatives on campus during the 2025-2026 school year.

We acknowledge that events in the region are unfolding in real time, and we take the security of our participants as the top priority. We will provide security throughout the trip, and adjust all itineraries and plans according to our knowledge of how to keep participants safe throughout the experience.

Eligibility:
- The applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student in good standing at Marquette University, and cannot graduate before May 2025.
- Applicant must be a student leader/officer in a registered student organization and have strong influence on campus
- Applicant must have a valid passport by March 15, 2025. (A valid Passport for this trip must not expire before December 8, 2025 - 6 months after the return date.)
