About our building

Hillel Milwaukee, the Hillel Student Center - Joseph & Vera Zilber Building, opened in July 2009, and was designed by La Dallman and constructed by Stier Construction, Inc.  It has won two design awards: a 2011 Merit Award from the American Institute of Architects-Wisconsin, and a 2010 Mayor's Design Award in the category of "Live. Work. Harmony."

The building incorporates 24 green-building practices, including: a green roof, rain gardens , reclaimed cream city brick , tank-less water heater, dual flush toilets, LED and fluorescent lighting , and sustainable furniture materials.
